If you wish to opt out of communication, please reply “STOP” to cancel any SMS text messaging or click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any Weightless email. Weightless does not use SMS messaging to promote products or services. Text messaging is for confirmation of appointments and direct communication with active clients or registered Weightless agents. Message/data rates may apply. Any phone contact is for appointment confirmation or communication with active clients. Weightless will not contact you by phone if requested. Submission of this form does not authorize the purchase of programs, services, or products. See the privacy policy/Terms and Conditions at Weightlessfinancial.com/privacy
* Debt Resolution Disclaimer
Payments made to a Debt Resolution program are for services rendered. Weightless or its licensed affiliate law firm is not paying off the client’s debt obligations with the submitted monthly payment. This monthly payment is used to provide legal services that dispute the client’s debt(s) owed to creditors or lenders. Weightless Financial or our affiliate-licensed law firm cannot advise you to stop making payments to creditors or lenders. The fee is for legal services provided by the licensed law firm and includes all fees and costs associated with the law firm’s representation of the client under an Attorney Retainer Agreement. This does not apply to all programs offered by Weightless affiliate partners. Different parameters and processes vary based on the client’s needs, debts, or financial position. To learn the specifics of each program available, Weightless clients should read all disclosures and documents associated with the programs they choose to participate in. Weightless Financial promotes financial education and literacy first. We are not participating in the direct selling of investments, insurance, real estate, securities, tax advice, legal advice, or investment advisory products or services. For further information, reach out to Weightless at 866-739-6768 or explore our website at https://weightlessfinancial.com.
These disclaimers apply to all websites, apps, content, and services provided under the Weightless name, including Weightless Financial and any related programs, tools, or communication services (“Weightless,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By using our sites or services, you agree to the statements below in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Educational purposes only – not personalized advice
Weightless promotes financial education and literacy first. All information on our websites, in our apps, in our videos, emails, messages, and other materials is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not tailored to your individual financial situation.
Weightless does not provide:
- legal advice or representation
- tax advice or tax preparation
- investment, securities, or commodities advice
- credit-repair services
- debt-relief or debt-settlement services
- accounting or bankruptcy advice
We discuss general principles, strategies, and examples. We do not know your full financial circumstances, goals, risk tolerance, or legal situation. You are responsible for evaluating how any concept or strategy applies, or does not apply, to your own life and for seeking qualified professional advice when needed.
Before making decisions about debt, credit, investments, taxes, or legal matters, you should consult:
- an attorney licensed in your state for legal questions,
- a qualified tax professional for tax questions,
- a licensed financial professional or nonprofit credit counselor for individualized financial advice.
2. No investment, securities, or trading recommendations
From time to time, Weightless may discuss general investment topics. These discussions are for education only and:
- are not recommendations to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial product,
- are not investment advice, portfolio management, or individualized financial planning, and
- do not consider your specific financial situation, objectives, or risk tolerance.
Investing and trading in stocks, bonds, options, futures, cryptocurrencies, or any other financial instrument involves a substantial degree of risk and may not be suitable for everyone. You can lose some or all of your invested capital. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. Weightless does not offer any specific investment advice, products, or services.
3. Weightless is not a debt relief or settlement company
Weightless is an education and communication service. We are not:
- a debt relief or debt settlement company,
- a law firm or legal services provider,
- a lender, creditor, or debt collector,
- a credit-repair organization, or
- a provider of tax, bankruptcy, or accounting services.
Weightless does not:
- enroll your debts into any debt relief or settlement program,
- negotiate with your creditors or debt collectors,
- assume or pay your debts,
- hold or manage settlement funds or escrow accounts,
- stop or delay lawsuits, garnishments, collections, or foreclosures, or
- provide legal or tax advice about settlements, bankruptcy, or other legal remedies.
Any decision to enroll in, remain in, or cancel a debt-relief, settlement, consolidation, or legal program is strictly between you and the provider you select. Weightless does not guarantee any particular program or provider. If you choose to enroll in and contract with a debt-relief or settlement provider that you learn about through Weightless Program Advisors, our websites, or our technology platforms, Weightless may receive monetary compensation in connection with your participation in that program. This compensation does not change the fact that Weightless is not a debt-relief company, law firm, lender, creditor, or debt collector, and it does not create any obligation for you to enroll in, remain in, or complete any particular program. Any such compensation is paid by the program provider, not as an additional fee charged to you by Weightless.
4. Debt relief and debt settlement risks
Our content may explain how debt relief, debt management, or debt settlement programs work so that you can ask better questions and understand potential consequences. Those programs can be risky and are not appropriate for everyone.
Common risks include, but are not limited to:
- Credit damage. Many programs involve stopping or reducing payments to creditors while funds accumulate for use in negotiations. Late payments, charge-offs, and “settled for less than full balance” notations can significantly harm your credit scores and may remain on your credit reports for years.
- Increased balances. While you are not paying your original creditors, interest, late fees, and penalties may continue to accrue. Your balances may increase before any settlement is reached.
- Collections and lawsuits. Creditors and debt collectors may continue or escalate collection efforts, including calls, letters, collection placements, lawsuits, judgments, wage garnishments, and liens. Enrolling in a program does not guarantee that collection activity will stop.
- No guarantee of settlement. Creditors are not required to accept any settlement offer, to negotiate, or to work with a particular company. There is no guarantee that any or all of your debts will be settled.
- Tax consequences. If a creditor forgives or cancels a portion of your debt, that amount may be treated as taxable income by the IRS or state tax authorities. You may receive a Form 1099-C and owe additional tax. You should consult a qualified tax professional about the possible tax consequences of any settlement.
- Program failure and drop-out. Many people who enroll in debt-relief or settlement programs do not complete them—for example, because they cannot maintain deposits or because life circumstances change. If you leave a program early, you may still owe your full debts plus accrued fees and interest, and you may also owe any earned program fees.
Our explanation of these risks is not exhaustive and is not legal or tax advice. Always review any program agreement carefully, ask questions about fees and timelines, and consult only trained, knowledgeable, and preferably licensed individuals who have experience in the debt relief industry. Weightless does not recommend or support taking advice from friends, family, acquaintances, or coworkers who are not specifically trained or educated in the fields of finance and debt relief. They may mean well, but their advice is usually more of an opinion based on all the wrong data, or, worse yet, on preconceived beliefs that will only cause misdirection or financial harm.
5. No guarantees – outcomes, savings, or retention
Weightless may reference goals such as improving understanding, reducing confusion, supporting client communication, or helping partner programs reduce unnecessary cancellations and improve retention. Any such statements express our aims and beliefs about the design of our systems, not promises about your individual results.
Without limitation:
- We do not guarantee that any debt outcome within your chosen debt program will be reduced, forgiven, or settled.
- We do not guarantee that your debts will be resolved for any particular amount or percentage, or within a specific period of time.
- We do not guarantee approval, enrollment, or completion of any debt-relief, settlement, or legal program.
- We do not guarantee that use of Weightless will raise retention, completion, savings, or any other metric to a specific level.
- We do not guarantee any credit score outcome, credit-report change, or ability to obtain future credit.
Any statistics, case studies, testimonials, or examples we share are based on specific circumstances. Individual results will vary and are not typical. You should not enroll in any program or use any service solely because of a stated or implied outcome.
6. Testimonials, case studies, and examples
From time to time, we may feature stories, testimonials, interviews, or case studies from clients or partners. Unless clearly stated otherwise:
- these stories represent the experiences of specific individuals or organizations,
- they will only include unpaid testimonials,
- they are provided for illustration and educational purposes only, and
- they do not represent guaranteed or typical results for any single individual, couple, or group.
Your experience will depend on your specific circumstances, decisions, program terms, and external factors outside of Weightless’s control.
7. Communications consent (email, phone, SMS)
By submitting your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information to Weightless (for example, through a website form, app registration, or other sign-up flow), you provide express consent for us to contact you using the information you provide.
This may include:
- emails about appointments, account activity, educational content, or services,
- phone calls or voicemails from our team, and
- SMS or text messages related to scheduling, reminders, account matters, or client support.
On occasion, Weightless may use automated technology (never automated dialers) like text messaging platforms by recognized cellular phone carriers to send messages related to your account or interactions with us. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.
You can opt out of communication channels at any time:
- For email, click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any Weightless email.
- For SMS/text, reply “STOP” to any message to cancel further text messaging from us to that number.
- For phone calls, you may ask to be placed on our internal do-not-call list.
Opting out of one channel (for example, SMS) will not automatically opt you out of all other channels (for example, email), where we may still need to send legally required notices or information you have requested.
Weightless does not sell your mobile number. We use your contact information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Cookies, tracking, and privacy notice
